There were four special awards presented at Friday night’s celebration with the presentation of the Cassidian Community Awards
Club Volunteer
The third award was open to anyone that volunteers within the club setting in any role or capacity.
The winner of this award was Ray Gallivan, a tireless volunteer and somebody who genuinely makes a real difference. He is Director of Rugby at Barry Rugby Club but has also set up and coaches Barry RFC Women and Girls Teams and is Head Coach of the Vale of Glamorgan Girls Skill Development Centre. In addition Ray also coaches Barry U14′s RFC Boys Team and next season will be Vale Schools U15′s Head Coach

108 Miles to Tenby

After months of rigorous training,11th May marked the Annual Carten Bike ride. The course maps out 108 road miles starting at the Cardiff City Stadium finishing at the town square in Tenby. In testing conditions including 30mph head winds the team of Anthony Mynett,Neil Cope,Adrian Hancock,Rainer Weiser and leader Andy Bird all completed the course to raise money for The Noahs Ark Childrens Hospital Charity.

3 Peaks Challenge

Ty Hafan 3 peaks challenge took place this June where teams of 5 take on the three highest peaks in Wales over a period of 1 day. Starting at the foot of Snowdon at 3.30am; Anthony Mynett, Neil Cope, Simon Williams, Rainer Wieser and Adrian Hancock represented Team 4 Willmott Dixon and commenced their trek reaching the summit by 5.30am and continuing up Cadair Idris and Penyfan Mountains, raising over £2500.00 for the charity. Having trained over the months leading up to the event, the team’s performance was accomplished in a time acceptable to our fitness guru, Simon Williams, who was pleasantly surprised by our finishing speed. Assisted by Adrian’s driving and culinary skills, the team enjoyed the whole experience while raising money for an excellent cause. Highlights of the event included Neil Cope doing the ayatollah on each peak and Simon’s choice of accommodation.

Golf Charity Day

CS Flooring Solutions entered The Captains Charity Golf Day on Sunday 30th August, at Porthmadog Golf club. The foursome team battled the elements to record a respectable score of 81 points which just missed out on the prizes, but fun had by all. The course was in excellent condition considering the recent weather which had hit the Lleyn Peninsular and the golf was played under glorious sunshine. See below the team headed by Anthony Mynett, Roy Evans, Dennis Taylor and Alan Rowland.
